Ice skating and Pizza!
May 12th, 2008 Posted May 12th, 2008 by SamThat was what we did on Sunday, May 4th–our 5th wedding anniversary! Our idea this year was to go back to a few of the places we visited during our honeymoon. We took our kids with us and had a blast. Here’s some photographic proof.
We first took Shani ice skating back during our New Years vacation. She was such a natural and just didn’t want to leave the ice (she wore both of us out)–and Sunday was no different. She was thrilled to get back out on the ice, and after a few turns around the rink was already attempting to skate by herself, and continued to try undeterred by multiple falls… she was so disappointed when we had to leave. Kyla was a little more cautious, she really liked the “walker” that they had for kids learning to skate–just the right mixture of security and independence.
After the ice skating we headed for Bruno’s in San Marcos–a pizza place famous in SoCal for great pizzas in the especially large variety. With a large pizza, a pitcher of beer, and both kids munching happily we toasted to 5 great years, and the many more to come.
Good times!
I love you Tammy!
I did it!
May 1st, 2008 Posted May 1st, 2008 by TammyI got my driving permit! I should have gotten it eons ago, but PTL I have it now, hurrah! Beware all ye hapless motorist. Yahahaha!
Yesterday I was reviewing verses with Shani (2).
Me:”Jesus said, thy faith hath made thee whole” Mark 10:52
Shani: Mark 10:52….Mommy? Remember Marky?
Me: Yes
Shani: Remember Marky and his little beard on his little lips
Today Kyla’s playing dress up.
Kyla (4):Mom I’m ready to go
Me: where are you going?
Kyla: On a hike. I’ve got my back pack and beer(holds up a toy) and I’m all set to go
Well that’s all for now folks join me again next month for more news on the sPecks!

Shani’s happy place
November 29th, 2007 Posted November 29th, 2007 by TammyBoo and Tory were setting up the Christmas tree yesterday when the kids came down for dinner. Shani (2) says to Sam “Look, dey’re making Chrissmas!”
The girls stayed up late decorating the downstairs part of the house. Marky and Darren moved the tree. Sam D. and Phil got the happy job of untangling and fixing the Cmas lights. GBY them!
Wine, caramel popcorn, sweet Christmas music (and Stephanie’s company) made the evening extra good. Hearty laughs!
The happy Christmas season has begun!

November 17th, 2007 Posted November 17th, 2007 by TammyOh wow! Has it really been that long since I last blogged??? Yikes! Well lets see, what has happened this last month?…..A fire, a dust storm, extreme sickness, new people moving in, a double wedding, more sickness, visits from friends and strangers. I got a new voice…a low raspy hoarse voice…ouch! Hopefully won’t last too long.
Last night we had an impromptu “home bonding” with mixed drinks, chocolates, nuts, and hot pockets (don’t ask). We had the wonderful company of Haven. Tory and Jules amused us with embarrassing stories from their past. Good laughs! I love those two women! “Anchor Man” was saved for the last laughs of the night. Twas good. Very good.
(Many thanks to my sweet homeys that put this shindig together!)
Pictures I took during the San Diego fires:

Clouds of smoke and dust

During one of the nights of the fires we lost a big heavy glass table that was siting on our roof top/porch. The wind blew it over the 4 1/2 foot wall. We didn’t even realize it was gone till the next evening we found it smashed in the middle of the road by our house.
