Dude....

1) Gallery 1/2 is way too heavy.
2) It's too much trouble to try and encorporate it within a site with YOUR css work.
3) Gosh darn it's hard for n00bs to get around in.
4) G2 really takes your db on a ride.

You should think about using something like "Lightbox" or some other nifty difty thing. There are some issues with that as well, but I finally pulled out all my hair after trying to 'integrate' G2. Unless you regularly update yourself with PHP/G2/MySQL updates and then force yourself to suck it up and hack'n'slash thru the bugs/css problems/browser issues, I'd say DUMP IT.

You might as well create a WIKI and throw it into your site as well ;)

Since I've gone Joomla and Paula puts pics up, I've washed my hands of any Gallery 'system' for my site....

Came across this: http://www.plogger.org/ 3 lines of PHP code to integrate into your site.... adjust css and you're good to go...

Hmmm, that's an idea...I've started using Picasa recently on my computer for photo touch up/sorting and have been impressed...and if I continue to use it that would make it very easy to publish albums.

However I would rather host my own pictures if I could find something that was usable and reliable.

Picasa has web galleries that you can integrate into your blog. There are many other sites that to the same. Or do you want some PHP gallery and host the pics on your web space?
